Students, staff, and faculty in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) worked on sanitation projects in Brazil beginning in 1999. Our work has been focus on wastewater treatment. These groups conducted research on the feasibility of applying CEPT technology (Chemically Enhanced Primary Treatment) for the cities of Tatui, Riviera de Sao Lourenco, Alfenas, and Paraty.
